been very instrumental in winning him this broad audience. This
month he is releasing the final piece in this trilogy, The Last

2 REVIEW - The Story We Find Ourselves In
by Michael
Francisco (14 March 2005)
Brian McLaren's immensely popular book, A New Kind of Christian,
largely begged the question - what is the new type of Christian
really like? The sequel, The Story We Find Ourselves In, provides
a first view of what Christians of this 'new kind' are like.

REVIEW - Wandering
Orthodoxy
by Jeremy
Rein (1 May 2005)
The title of Brian McLaren's book, Generous Orthodoxy, is engaging
and provides promise. The title seems to be something that all Christians
would want - to provide the truth of the gospel, orthodoxy, in a
generous manner. However, one must also question the title. Just
how "generous" and open can the true orthodoxy be? What
sort of "orthodoxy" is McLaren presenting?
The
Person of Christ - Brian McLaren wrongly separates the person from
the message
by Chris Walker
(14 March 2005)
Pastor and author Brian McLaren (Recently named by Time magazine
as one of the 25 most influential Evangelicals of the last century)
has said something worth repeating. He wrote in The Church in Emerging
Culture that, "If Christianity has anything to say at all,
if it has a message that is worth repeating at all, then at the
core is Christ." That's true - our focus must be on Christ,
and as believers, we should rejoice in every opportunity we have
to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ. It is also true that in
the church today, we might do well to examine how Christ-focused
we truly are.
REVIEW
- Reinventing the Church Biblically
by James Sherk
(28 March 2005)
(Responding to Brian McLaren's Church on the Other Side.)
The postmodern movement has advanced through academia, society,
and now, increasingly, is making its presence felt inside the Church.
Some, like Brian McLaren, author of "The Church on the Other
Side", welcome and embrace this development, and believe that
the Church needs to be radically reinvented to continue to function
in a new, postmodern era. Is he right?
